Hi All,

Can we use this thread to track the time taken for the Work Permit Extension from Inside Canada

Extension Filed Date - April 5th 2024
Status - No response yet
I am already near current processing time of 105 days but no response yet

Please post your timelines if you have filed your extension or got the approval as well for us to get some idea on how much time it is taking to get the update

Hi guys I got refused for a in Dec 2024 for a missing LMIA due to submitting it late. I don’t think it was added to my file after submitting. I sent in a reconsideration immediately in Dec and Feb.

I decided to make a new application for restoration in February 2025 24th.

I got approved June 2025 12th.

Make sure your letter of explanation is clear. It is imperative and important you add any documentation that’s can help you.

Hello everyone.

• Work permit application refused: December 18, 2024 (LMIA-exempt work permit)
• New application submitted (closed work permit – principal applicant, open work permit – spouse, study permits – children, restoration of status): January 10, 2025
• Letter of confirmation of approval of the new work permit: August 8, 2025 (210 days)
• Physical copies of permits received: August 18, 2025

I've been lurking on this thread recently, so I am giving my timeline here to hopefully give others some idea of what to expect. I had to renew my open work permit due to my passport expiring this summer. I renewed my passport in January and applied to renew.

• Work permit renewal application submitted: February 1, 2025
• Work permit application confirmation letter: February 2, 2025
• Update address for move using webform: May 27, 2025
• Send an inquiry using webform to ask if anything is delaying the application. Receive Robo email. : May 27th
• Approval Letter: September 12th, 2025
• Permit recieved in mail: September 15th, 2025
• 223 days

I know the silence is deafening, but keep up hope! Also, apparently the moving form worked because my new address was correct.
