P2 is basically when your account gets created on the permanent residence portal. You will see a new row with category as "Confirmation of permanent residence" once you get the P2 email. You will then be asked to confirm the presence in Canada, share the address and Photograph for PR card.
I got P2 email

  • upload a photo in a digital format that will be used for your permanent resident card - I dont see dimension for the photo in the email ?

Any idea how long is the processing time for stamping passports at New Delhi? Passports were delivered there a month ago and there is no update besides it's in progress.

Processing can vary from around a year to 3+ years. Nobody can anticipate how long your processing will be.
Sorry, maybe i am mis-understood. 3 years for getting OHIP card for a landed immigrant is ridiculous. Anyway I will end this discussion here

I know a few 2024 PGP applicants have received CoPR. Maybe some even landed in Ontario. If there is someone in here, I needed to know how soon Service Ontario issues IDs and health cards. As per Service ontario there is no wait period to apply.

last year and previous years I always pre-arranged travel and medical insurance for parents ( super important) and planning to do the same for their landing too.

my question is - how many month of private insurance is needed to be safely covered for any eventuality, before OHIP takes over. I know critical insurance is different need and i can take care of that.
I do not mind a bit overlap so for now guessing 3 months of personal medical cover will be safe. Any inputs from personal experience in Ontario?
Currently, there is no waiting period before you can apply for OHIP (It used to be 3 months before covid but was waived during covid times and has never been restored). OHIP card arrives 4-6 weeks after applying, however, you can show the approved application (the one you receive from Service Ontario) and avail the services typically available under OHIP. Theoritically, this means one should be covered from the day you apply for OHIP. Hope this helps.

What does that mean"Final decision - Sept. 3, 2025: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made". My Parent got the P1 letter on Jule 25.
My parent application is processing in Canada. Thanks

By the way, they completed their medical exam (Passed) and biometric collection in March 2025.
Hi. My parents PGP also got the same message for 11 Sep 2025. Have yiu got any further update on your PGP application?

Hi guys, I have uploaded the additional documents request 3 months ago but the status in the Review of additional documents still says:
"We need additional documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details". what does it mean?

Hello all,

I received AOR two months ago and received this request today to submit documents for Sponsor, which seems unusual from what I have read here:

In order to process your application, a Case Processing Agent has deemed the following as required:
Important: Please provide ALL the following documents for yourself (the sponsor).
• Contact Information: Provide updated contact information including your residential and mailing addresses, e-mail address (if applicable) and telephone number where you can be reached between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
• Credit Card/Bank/Phone: For the last two years provide original copies of credit card statements, bank statements, and phone bills (including cell phone if applicable).
• Driver’s Licence: A copy of both sides of your current driver’s license.
• Employment/School Letter: For the last two years provide letter(s) of employment or contract(s) from Canadian employer(s), and/or letter(s) of acceptance for Canadian educational institute(s).
• Health Card: A copy of the front and back of a provincial health card.
• Insurance: For the last two years provide a copy of a house/apartment and car insurance.
• Lease/Deed: For the last two years provide a copy of a Lease/Rental Agreement or proof of home ownership (i.e. property deed).
• List of Absences from Canada: For the last two years provide a list of all absences from Canada (including all dates of departure as well as return dates to Canada).
• Passport (Residency): For the last two years provide a complete copy of every page of all passports (including current passports).
• Recent Travel Itinerary: If you have recently travelled outside of Canada provide a copy of a travel itinerary and the applicable ticket stubs.
• Travel History for all Countries: Travel records and/or Records of Movement from all countries for which you have a passport or travel document for the last two years.
• Travel History into Canada: A report of travel into Canada can be obtained free of charge by writing to: Canada Border Services Agency, 410 Laurier Ave. West 11th floor Ottawa, ON K1A 0L8.
• Utility Bills: For the last two years provide original copies of gas, hydro, and water bills.

I wanted to understand why this request may have been made. My employment background (sponsor) could have led the officer to deem me as non-resident (I am a Canadian citizen since 2019) - I work fully remote in GTA and work for a US company. I have only been to US for 2 days in total in last 2 years (was over a year ago) since I am employed here. The previous employments were Canadian companies.

I will try to provide all these documents, but wanted to know what could be cooking that could be used against me (or my sponsorship eligibility).
Hi,

I received a similar letter regarding my parents’ sponsorship application. I wanted to check if you have any updates on your case and if you’ve found out the reason why these documents were requested?

Thanks!
