Possibly but your PR hasn't expired. Just be honest. You will be let in.

If you leave it until the last minute to return, you'll have no buffer to travel outside of Canada if you have to (work trips, family emergency back home, etc.), without violating your residency obligation. If possible, return as soon as possible.

Yeah, I waited too late to return; the earliest I can return is the third week of September.
