I tried using my own cic account to apply tourist visa for parents, but the questionnaire is asking the applicant's details, but it isnt me.

So should i open a new cic account for my parents to apply for tourist visa?

I have. I applied on behalf of my senior parents using my GCKey account. I stated my dad as the main applicant, and I was very clear in the explanation letters that I was applying on behalf of them as they are seniors that can't handle technology very well. My parents and I signed the family representative form. Visas were approved.

I have the same question. Can you explain that your answer "Yes" means that I have to open a new account for my mom, or I can use my cic account but fill the representative form as well? Thank you!

I have my CoPR and will land in one month from now. I am yet to secure a job, and will most likely rent an AirBNB. My dad is retired, alone (but financially independent) Can I still expect a positive decision if I apply for his visitor visa?

You aren't even in Canada which has nothing to do with your father. It is his ties to return, funds, travel history and valid reasons to travel that are assessed. You cannot even provide letter of invitation if not in Canada, and if he applies as soon as you land then makes IRCC suspicious.

First, you mentioned that his visit visa will be assessed independently. And then you say that IRCC will become suspicious if he applies as soon as I land. Aren't you contradicting yourself.

Visitors are assessed like other tourists. If you are moving to Canada it will appear as though he is attempting to move to Canada with you. Your father’s reason for travel is assessed like other visitors. If you haven’t moved to Canada or only recently move his reason for travel make little sense and his ties to his home country decrease. Before you move to Canada you should be aware that sponsoring a parent is extremely difficult and many will never be able to sponsor them. You need to be making longterm plans for your father in his home country.
