I'd just write 'travel plans' and not go into details. The reason they ask for a reason? Probably because there's a space in the form for it.

Facepalm. You’re right. I was thinking of the 1095 days thing and that the application is locked in on that front. I was super in compliance with my RO and didn’t leave Canada during the application so I was getting the two mixed up. Mea culpa.
That being said, while some time as a TR counts towards the 1095 days, I find it unlikely that there are many people who make the 1095 days thing cutoff and then are in danger of not making 730 days as a PR and maintaining that during the application processing time.
It's true. It should be a 'corner case', a situation that in practice is quite rare.*
And that's why I think that focussing on the 'accompanying spouse' PR rules should be way down the list of probabilities and priorities.
In all these scenarios it doesn't apply to those who remain in Canada (effectively), and only (mostly) to those who apply for citizenship from abroad or leave immediately - and remain there WHILE also having their citizenship application seriously delayed.
Better - if you're getting close - to return to Canada to remain in compliance with the RO.
*Rare but ... yes, it does happen. I read of one. It sounded most unpleasant.
Need help we got oath notification that an email is coming with details of ceremony on 17 August but no email is received , also BG and Prohibition didn't turn green, we asked they say its system issue but its completed? any idea

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice or shared experiences regarding a delay in my citizenship application.
I submitted my application in November 2024 . I passed the citizenship test and background check in jan 2025.
However according to the GCM notes :
A request for ICES (travel history verification) was made on April 17, 2025,
My file has been in “Grant Docs Pending” since then,
It was assigned to an officer with an internal due date of May 17,
But no action has been recorded since.
It’s now been over 9 months since AOR, and the LPP (Language, Physical Presence, and Prohibitions) stage hasn’t started at all.
I’ve sent follow-ups through the IRCC web form, but only received generic replies. I also submitted a new GCMS request to see if anything changed.
Have others faced similar delays in LPP .
Did contacting an MP help?
Is there anything else I can do to avoid the file staying stuck?
Any advice or insights would be really appreciated. I just want to ensure my routine application is treated fairly and progresses like others submitted around the same time.

how many days did you apply with? ICES is usually triggered if there are discrepancies and/or low physical presence days.
I already ordered the entry and exit records from CBSA and they match with the days declared in my application. The physical presence days were around 1450 days as I remember
Being out for 3 weeks should have no impact on your citizenship application as the clock on the physical presence requirement for citizenship stopped on the date you signed the application. Only issue for people would be if they are out of the country long enough that it jeopardizes their permanent residence status. Citizenship applicants must maintain their PR status through their application processing up to oath. So don't stress. Also, rather than call, request your GCMS notes from CBSA so you can see the file status and officer notes.
UPDATE : Aug 13th, Oath scheduled Sep 16.
