Virtual Landing Questions

Hello,

My wife applied for PR and TRV through the IRCC portal. I am her sponsor living in Canada.
She got approved for the TRV recently and plans to fly to Canada end of July. She applied for ther PR mid April 2025.
If she ends up getting a letter for a passport request for her PR application a few days before flying, can she do the virtual landing process?
Do we need to change her contact information when she lands in Canada as a tourist?

You need to update her address when she arrives.

If she gets the passport request before departing, she can either submit the passport and wait (and therefore land as a PR) or depart and request virtual landing (once in Canada).

It may be faster and more certain timing to submit the passport rather than virtual landing - but no-one can tell you for sure.

Thank you! We do prioritize to land as PR but if the approval comes in with little time left before she goes, we don't want to rebook the flight and all that. But I appreciate the answers. All make sense and clears everything up for us.

Hello, I have a question about virtual landing too. So, the latest update on my GC key says, "final decision". Its showing this since 7 March 2025. I put up an inquiry in May the agent on call said. "Your PR was approved, and you are in que for virtual landing". What does that mean? I have not received any update or portal or anything since 7 March 2025. Can anyone please explain what is happening and what can I do about it? This wait is crazy, is there any timeframe or what?
