congratulations, I think you need to take appointment on VFS website for passport submission please call them and confirm. My application still background check in process.

On VFS website for Dubai, the only option is for biometric submission not for passport, but will call and check. In my application it also says background check in progress though.

I raised a webform a few days ago and got a reply that the application is in process. I’ve been checking daily but still no update

I think your application is being processed manually, cause my mom’s approval came in 3 weeks and stamped passport like in 4 days. All you can do is wait. One of my friends application also took like 2-3 months in Dubai.

If processed in 3 weeks you’re right primarily done by AI. Very common for applications to take months to process otherwise.

I applied for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) on 21st May 2025 from Dubai. The current processing time shows 37 days, and I’ve been checking my application status daily. However, there has been no visible progress — the background check is still in process, and eligibility review has not yet started.


As I have visited Canada within the last ten years, my application should fall under CAN+ processing.


Could anyone please advise whether I should contact IRCC or simply wait for the decision?

My cousin brother also applied for his first ever TRV from Dubai, having almost similar timelines as yours. His application was submitted on May 20th, and May 25th he received application acknowledgement and also biometric letter. Biometrics were submitted on June 3rd and since then utter quiet. Background in progress and eligibility not started. I'll keep following you on this forum for updates on your application, please post when you get one. I'll let you know too when my cousin application is updated.

It seems like our application is being checked manually. Let’s hope for the best
