What is status in Canada? A visitor? On a supervisa? If so is he compliant with the annual supervisa insurance requirement? When does the visit expire? Processing for H&C for most is now multiple years with no guarantee of approval. He may be denied because of the high cost of his medical care. Have you sought out treatment options in and out of Canada while file is being processed? There may not be an option to pay out of pocket because provincial healthcare holders are prioritized or it may be too costly depending on your level of savings.
He’s on Supervisa. Visa valid till 2031. Can still stay for 3 more years. Just waiting to get AIP so that he can have access to health care. Have insurance already.

He may not be able to qualify for supervisa insurance which is required to be purchased annually to visit on a supervisa. Certainly won’t cover nephrology going forward. Don’t think you realize that AIP is far from guaranteed and may take 5+ yrs just to be assessed. Your father is in a huge backlog of tens of thousands of applicants for a very small amount of spots that is scheduled to get even smaller for the next few years. Think they are still processing applications from 2022/23. You need a plan B, C, D, etc.
