Type: Online application
Location: Toronto
Application: married with 4 dependent
Application sent: 28-Apr-2025
I received an email on 02/june/2025 stating, "This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for Canadian Citizenship. On June 30 I got invitation for Citizenship test Between July 4th to August 2, and on July 11th yesterday I got Fingerprints request hopefully I will do today on Monday……
Hi I also got Finger print request on July 10, 2025. I went to RCMP accredited agency, they have taken my finger print and sent it to RCMP. They have linked my UCI with my FP application instead of Citizenship application number. Please do share your experience when you get it done.
Thank you

Check instructions carefully but I'm pretty sure it's only required for identification purposes - therefore any (readable) photo ID.
Thank you it. On the instruction letter it says,
PR card even if its expired or government issued ID with photo and signature. We still have 2 weeks left on the citizenship timeline we’ll wait for a few days if his new license will arrive in the mail. If not within the next 2 days, I’ll have him use his passport instead.

Passports are indeed considered government-issued ID. Only an issue if it specifically says it must be (a) Canadian government-issued ID. [I say 'a' because funny thing in Canada, when they say Canadian government issued, that typically includes provincially issued. And I guess they figure it will confuse people if they say Canadian governments, plural.]

Oh thank you for this response. I will try to let him use the passport for now. Still no IDs in the mail. :(

Note, he may want to contact IRCC in advance if he does not have PR card - one of the parts of the citizenship ceremony is submitting one's PR card (if in person) or cutting it up (online). I'm sure they have procedures for those without PR cards (you're not required to have one to apply for citizenship) but best to clarify / avoid surprises.

Test received 30th June
Completed citizenship test by July 16
Tracker not updated yet.
Does any one know how long from test to actual citizenship grant completion is taking currently?

Thank you. I have read on other groups that COPR can be used as well. That he still have. I am still not sure about the test tho. We’re in a dilemma of just trying to use the passport, take the test and wait until they request for another id or just reschedule.

I didn't realize this was about the test. They're not trying to trick you up with the right document - they just need to confirm the person taking the test is the citizenship candidate.

Did any of the April applicants receive AOR? Looks like most of the march applicants(applicants between 27-31) have received it today.
Application date 28-April-2025, AOR June- 2-2025, June-30- 2025 Invitation for citizenship test July-01-2025, fingerprint. Fingerprint Done july-15-2025, and Citizenship test done on 2025 July-17-2025, now waiting for next update hopefully next Oath ceremony......

We will give it another day, if no ID in the mail yet, he’ll just take the exam using his passport and hope for the best.
