Your application must have been marked as not too urgent then. Some applications were submitted this year and already hear that message. From my understanding, if you hear that your background check is being processed, your application has physically been assigned to an officer. You need to order the GCMS notes to know exactly what is going on, according to other users here. Only then will you know.

Hello all. My kids passport expires by March 2027 & ours in July 2027. Our work permits & kids study/visitor permits are expiring in April 2026. While our H&C application is in progress, is it fine to renew our passports before expiry so that we can give the permits as proof.?

Hi everyone, I was wondering whether this would be possible:

I recently submitted my H&C application, and in form IMM5283e I answered the questions and attached additional documents with full answer for each question (because this form itself doesn't have much space to write complete answer) However, after submission my circumstances changed, and I was wondering whether it's possible to ask them somehow to replace old IMM5283e & additional document with a new ones that I can submit them, not add to application, but replace completely. Anyone did this? Is it possible at all? And if so, how I can do it?

Do you know whether they just add new forms into the application (like the old IMM5283e , + the new IMM5283e and the officer sees them both) or replacing completely? I just want to replace entire form + information & delete old one. Does anyone know whether this would work? I just don't want to make a mess and would like to replace it entirely. TIA

IRCC should increase quota for H and C and refugee immediately. The current quota is unrealistic and does not make sense at all. 70K applications in the pool competing for 10k target is irrational. How to absorb people from war torn countries who are living in Canada on temporary permits, particulary families with children. These people can not be asked to leave Canada. Large part of H and C mess we are seeing now is because of overwhelming number of parent/grandparents applying for H and C.

I highly doubt that. PGP is so small that H&C applicants from "PR for parents" cohort won't reduce. Also, since the pool isn't open to post 2020 applicants, a lot of people who want to apply are excluded as well.
