When you submit fingerprints is there an update in tracker once IRCC receives them. I got a request on 30th April and submitted on the same day. There has been no update on the tracker so far in this regard. BG in progress.

Anyone who submitted FPs around 30th April timeframe had their BG marked complete?

Does anyone know if finger prints given during PR application about 5 years ago still good for Citizenship application? How does IRCC decide who to ask to give fingerprints?

Don't think they stand good. Most of the folks receiving FP requests on this forum became PR in last 5 years.

Not sure regarding criteria specifically. Something to do with names?

did they give you an option to send a copy of it to you (in case IRCC does not get it, you can forward your copy) ?

No, the RCMPs role is not the send the fingerprints to IRCC, but rather send the results of whether there’s a match of criminal record to IRCC, so sending a copy of your prints to IRCC won’t help. Also just FYI they are digital prints not ink so they can only be sent digitally

fingerprints submitted this afternoon, RCMP will process and do the necessary checks in 48-72hours and forward the results to IRCC, who will then take some time to update on the citizenship tracker. The guy who did my fingerprints told me that it's super common these days to get fingerprinted and is nothing to worry about- he'd gotten many appointment requests this afternoon as IRCC sends these out in batches.

what I do wish to understand is that why they didn't send these BG checks out earlier.. they're only now sending these out in batches for people submitted in March, while previously people would receive FP requests within a month post submission.

Seems a lot of people got fingerprints request. So did my wife. While my BG was completed, hers is still in progress likely because of that fingerprints request. She is due to do them today. Does anyone know if this normally delays the overall process?
