PR cap - Category for protected persons

I checked the yearly quuota for PR, but my concern is this, what is the category for refugees and protected persons?
Becasue they posted different quotas but in any appears refugees.

With the current backlog of more than 250000 people I can only imagine what processing time would be like in the future. With the current cap limited to 20000, does that mean we are looking at a potential 12 years of processing times, it don't make sense.

If you take a look at claim statistics in 2024, you will see that claims finalized in 2024 around 73k. It will take 2 to 3 years to finalize current backlog of applications. The quota you are taking about is PR application target from refugees.

Yeah that's what I mean, thy are eventually going to apply for PR and with the current cap of 20000 it's going to take years for the pr

Except there are still cases from 2023 and likely some from 2022 also in the backlog. Quotas for protected people receiving PR are also set to decrease from 2025 to 2027

The wait time for PR is going to be so long that Canada will stop being an ideal destination for claiming refugee and I think that is the goal of all of this madness
