Address History Mismatch in Background Check

Hello All,

I'm in a weird situation and I don't know if I should be proactive or reactive in nature.

Situation:
  • I came to canada on study permit and now working on work permit, and I applied to PR on CEC category.
    • In the address history section of my application, I mentioned all my addresses where i lived (both foreign & Canada).
    • During the mid 2017, I moved from a different city to Toronto looking for a job. I lived at 'X' address on a month to month basis for 4 months and updated 'Y' address (relative's place) as my official address.
    • Since I was uncertain about where in Toronto/GTA I would find the job coupled with month-to-month rental arrangement, I maintained 'Y' address(relative's address) as my official address as I didn't want to risk losing out on important mail communication from university and other institutions as I was transitioning from study to work and was moving to a different city.
    • Once I was stable with my job, I moved to a more permanent place and updated my address from 'Y' address (relative's address) to the new address.
  • Fast forward 2018, when I applied for PR under CEC, I mentioned 'X' address in the address history section for the 4 month period and didn't mention 'Y' address. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention this in the letter of explanation.
  • Its been close to 9 months since the submission out of which 8 months have been in background check. Sometime in early 2019, I also updated my marital status using the WebForm.
  • Since my application had crossed normal processing time of 6 months, I called IRCC recently to inquire about the status and the agent dropped subtle hints about address history mismatch found in the background check.
  • My question is how worried should I be? Should I be proactive and explain myself about address mismatch or should I wait for IRCC to contact me for an explanation.
  • If I am proactive, am I at risk of giving out more information than I'm supposed to or will I risk a rejection otherwise.

  • Note: GCMS notes does not have any indicators about address mismatch. It only points to background check in process

This is Schrodinger's Cat situation all over again :(. Any helpful advice is much appreciated.

Are there any negative implications if I proactively submit this information.

I realized the mismatch in address history from a hint I picked up during a call with the agent. Nothing was officially communicated to me. I'm trying to determine of any negative effects If I go ahead with this

I am in a similar situation. Where did you updated your relatives address in (Driving license). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
