Congratulations, Motorcyclerider! As we are the non-organized type, we were probably the example of what not to do, including documents not completed (medical) and having only three pages of scanned photos, and our intent to return was a letter stating that it would be infeasible to rent an...

I am in Hong Kong and physically went to the HK Police headquarters in Wanchai to get it done. Honestly, I would not be too concerned. I found that after reading the forum here, that I was the least organised, least prepared, late on most of the stuff that needed to handed in, and in some...

Thanks Claudiakee, In actual fact, we don't get to see how long it takes for the HK police to send their criminal check, because they sent it directly to the Visa Office. However, I was told it was 2 weeks by the HK police office.

Thanks motorcyclerider. It was almost exactly 2 months after the passport request. although they did ask for some additional documents, which all together we sent back on Sept 18th. The date on the COPR was Nov 6 and we received it on November 7. Hope this helps.

Hi Bobokiko, You're right, it is just coincidental we submitted the application without thinking about the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Holidays. So, i would not suggest anybody to hand in their application at the end of the year. Otherwise, everything else is still very...

Hi bobokiko, We had always thought that it was done after the application was handed in. At least that was what we thought and heard through own experience and others, of course it was over 30 years ago! I am sponsoring my wife, and we are also living in Hong Kong. As such, I believe our...
