    Live in Caregiver

Much love :-* Thanks so much! Another thing I would like to know, do you know if I have to show certificates to prove I have the 6months training the scheme requires? This is because, I did a 4 month caregiver training program in 2009. I moved on to the next stage which is a 1yr 2months training...

    Live in Caregiver

Hello guys! I really wanna live in Canada and I have been looking for 'how'. Please can anyone therefore help me with how I can get a job as a live in caregiver? How long does it take for the visa to be processed etc? Would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance! ;)

Thanks for the reply :-* Actually, I have lived and experienced it having come from a broken home myself. My abuser also presently lives in the country and he is therefore a threat to my life since in Nigeria the police/government doesn't get involved in what they term domestic issues, aren't...

Huh? How do you mean I can easily fix it by leaving Europe for Nigeria? Maybe you need to google the stigma, discrimination and the threats to live a female divorcee faces in Nigeria. Like I said, lets agree I have my story to tell if seeking asylum happens to be my last resort. How would my be...

Well, I have not told my entire live history on this page, you know? I only gave glimpses....there are various reasons why marriages break down too in case you were wondering and domestic violence could be one of those reasons. Returning to my country of citizenship for a woman like me could...

Read my posts again and you would see I spoke about options i.e. student visa, which I believe I'm adequately qualified for. My only fear regarding taking that route is I don't want to leave my daughters behind if it's true only I can get the visa before it is given to my daughters (I guess this...

No, I'm not that stupid. In the worst case scenario, I would turn in myself as an asylum seeker.

I actually don't mind going home to re-establish myself for another 6 months. I've been considering the student visa option too and presently eyeing a masters degree in 'gender studies' (want to do something related, but not exactly like my first degree) to enhance my emplyment opportunities in...

Yes you are not wrong. I'm choosing this path because I'm sensing a visitor's visa might be the quickest and surest means for me. A student visa would mean I have to come first without my daughters and I'm afraid of having them being denied an entry visa to join me later on.

No, I wouldn't be happy to live without my kids. This is why I actually feel a visitor's visa would be my best bet since that would allow us 3 to go in at once. In the light of this, how best can you advise me to come into Canada? I'm grateful for your advise so far by the way!

I don't understand the bolded...you mean I can be a permanent resident without first entering into Canada and then find an employer that can give me a skilled job? Can you please give me some links to any potential employers that you know of? As for the student visa route, maybe I could apply...

I do have skills though. I'm a university graduate (read Psychology) who also happen to have certain years of work experince and in addition to that I have done a few other short courses here and there. I'm just not sure these are enough to qualify for the highly skilled visa category, but I'm...

Yeah, you guessed right! I plan to actually settle in Canada to find a safe haven for my daughters and I. I have gone through the other means of immigrating on the link you provided, but I'm a bit limited as I don't meet conditions for the 'highly skilled' category. Coming in as a student would...

Thanks for your reply! I didn't know getting a tourist visa to canada is this hard :(. I was thinking my having lived out of my country for so long in several other countries was enough trust for them to issue me the visa, but I guess it isn't enough.
