I applied through my IRCC GCKEY account. Based on my experience, you can follow the protocol below: Log in to your GCKEY account. Click on 'Apply to come to Canada.' Answer a series of questions. You will get a checklist specific to you based on the answers to the questions.

Use the AOR to apply for your open work permit. IRCC does not really care about if you have linked your PR application to the IRCC account.

I guess that is why you need to wait more to get PPR.

From the IRCC: Your application is “approved in principle (AIP)” if: you have received a letter from IRCC stating that you meet the permanent residence eligibility requirements, but. you still have to pass the medical, security and background checks for you and, if needed, your family members.

Me too! I received AIP in June, and there have been no actual changes since then. My background is still in progress.

Yes, IRCC always takes time to reply to webforms, often with delays lasting several weeks.
