    Can we find the background start date check on GCMS notes? I see nothing on mine about background check. That section is empty. I just see that Criminality is passed. From background start date it usually takes 24 months? Also has there been any movements for June/July AOR candidates?

    It’s difficult to forget about it when we don’t have a timeline. Do most people get a response by 2, 2.5 years? If we were seeing some movements, we could speculate how much longer we have to wait. I personally think Mandamus is the way to go after 2 years.

    100% agree. What we’re witnessing is clearly a case of mismanagement. The fact that citizenship isn’t a guaranteed right doesn’t make this acceptable. We’ve all been living here for a long time, and the very least we deserve is a clear timeline, not to be left in a state of oblivion!

    Aren’t all applications that take more than normal processing times non routine? Don’t think that means it necessarily takes more than 3 years, does it?

    Same situation and timeline. My criminality is passed in GCMS notes too but see nothing about background check in my GCMS notes. On tracker says background and prohibition in progress. No update at all since March 2024. Does Criminality passed means background check is done?

    I agree makes no sense. Someone I know just got her citizenship after 5 months today. Very similar profile to me. She was suggesting that people should gather and go to media to expose unreasonable delays.

    Wow, have you tried contacting MP, Mandamus etc? Does Mandamus actually work for candidates or it's just coincidence that it gets resolved because their application is close to deadline anyway?
