Vacation while waiting for permanent residency

They'll tell you your application is approved, and ask you to confirm you're in Canada. My understanding is that if the answer is no, they'll wait until you are back (I don't know if there's a time limit on that).

Help, "Will your spouse/common-law partner accompany you to Canada?"

Yes. The question was 'does he have a Canadian relative?' and I said 'Yes, a parent.' So both documents did not seem to be necessary when asked to prove it.

Help, "Will your spouse/common-law partner accompany you to Canada?"

No, no one in my family except for my partner is Canadian. The system asked if I have a Canadian relative. Spouse was included in the list, so I said yes. It asked me to prove my relationship to him (which I had to do anyway), and that he's Canadian (which I had to do anyway). It asked if my...

Help, "Will your spouse/common-law partner accompany you to Canada?"

I submitted my partner's passport, long form birth certificate, his father's passport, and his father's utility bills. I strongly suspect they did not need any of it aside from my partner's passport to show he's a citizen. But I couldn't find any way to confirm this.

    Personal history

I had MANY overlapping activities, especially while I was a student. It's really hard to make the non-online form accept that properly, but the online EE system handled it with no problem. I just got COPR, so it seems like it was fine. My understanding is that everything you've done needs to be...

Help, "Will your spouse/common-law partner accompany you to Canada?"

No, they essentially asked us to fill out the family form and schedule A for both myself and for him. Not for any of our family though. And then since some people get points for Canadian relatives it asked both of us to prove our Canadian relatives even though I got no points for it. (I rung...

COPR with wrong original entry date

I told IRCC two dates for my original entry date, because I didn't know which they wanted: 1. August 27, 2015 (my initial entry as a temporary resident) 2. August 2000 (my first entry ever) (And explained what each one is.) They put a date in 2018 that IS a date I entered, but it's not the...

Help, "Will your spouse/common-law partner accompany you to Canada?"

Yes, the following page asked for supporting documents to show his relationship to his family member, and their status. For the travel history, we just figured it out ourselves. (But that might depend on how many trips your partner has been on and how good a calendar they keep...)

PR Application - Non accompanying common-law partner/family section

    1. My partner is also Canadian. What I did was include him in my count of family members, say he was not accompanying, and then put 'Canadian citizen' in the follow up question of 'Why isn't he accompanying?'. My application was recently approved, so this was apparently acceptable, although I...

    Personal History - Organisations

Hello! Does anyone know what they want when asking for the location in relation to personal history organisations? I have been a member of some professional organisations that has been entirely virtual. Do they want to know where I was during that time? Or where the organisation is/was located...

Required to Declare Canadian Family Member

You mean when it asks for family size I should select 1? Where is that detailed? It says " Include yourself, your spouse or partner, and any children that you have, even if your spouse, partner or children will not come to Canada. Do not include your parents or any other relatives. If you have...

Required to Declare Canadian Family Member

Hello I'm applying through the Canada Experience class and my partner is a Canadian citizen. He is therefore not accompanying me. The application system asks if he has a Canadian relative, so we selected yes, but then it asks for documentation of this. His birth certificate doesn't list his...
