My application status finally changed to approved today, yay!:) I received the COPR email on July 30th and sent through our passports and photos. Hopefully the passports are on their way back to us. Good luck to those who are still waiting and thanks for your support through this journey...

Happy Canada Day! My experience suggests that your theory is flawed. My WP expired in May and I am still waiting. Both my spouse and I were given a BOWP with a one year validity. Interestingly enough, I have the same timeline as you. The wait continues... :)

You should renew now so you don't delay when the PPR comes. Once you renew send an info update to CIC (you'll be able to attach the new PP file). Your old passport remains valid until a new one is issued so it's not a problem. I did that and it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you...

Yes you should provide a LOE explaining what happened. Can't you apply for a copy of your grandparent's marriage certificate? I had a similar issue some time ago - I needed my parents marriage certificate - and I was able to get a copy.

I had a similar situation and submitted emails and copies of my performance appraisal that gave the details that were required. Basically they need to know the duration of employment (the HR letter says that) and whether the duties match the NOC code ( the support letter should state that)...
