Renewing vehicle license plate with odometer showing miles

I imported a vehicle from USA and registered in Ontario last year. When I took the car in to Canadian Tire for inspection, they wrote down the odometer reading in miles. I don't remember whether ServiceOntario recorded the actual mileage in miles or if they converted it to km in their system...

Conjugal Partner Sponsorship USA to Canada

Posting this question on behalf of my sister. She is US citizen residing in US, and has been engaged since last year to her Canadian girlfriend who lives in Canada. In March 2019 they submitted an application for PR under the conjugal partner class. From what I understand reading other posts on...

PR importing car owned by spouse to Canada

Another thing I just remembered - they will ask to see your bank statements, utility bills, rental agreements, and other documents in your name in order to prove that you have been living in Ontario for 3 months.

PR importing car owned by spouse to Canada

While my husband was living and working in the US, he had to register as a non-resident with Canada so he wouldn't have to file income taxes. So he has to go to Service Canada and re-activate his Social Insurance, as well as get a new driver license, then use that to apply for OHIP. The date of...

PR importing car owned by spouse to Canada

Yes, it seems like common sense for us to just have one form since we're married anyway, but the form itself allows for only one name to be entered. Since my car is being shipped, we won't be present and I can't trust that the customs agent at the border will figure out the details and waive the...

Makes sense, thank you! Was hoping to avoid a trip to the DMV but sounds like we'll have to do it.

PR importing car owned by spouse to Canada

We have a car I'd like to import to Canada duty-free as a first time PR. However, the car title is under my husband's name only, so his name would be on the AES filing. The problem is, he's a Canadian citizen (living in US for past 15 years) but since the car is worth more than $10,000 he'd have...

    OHIP residency rule

I plan on landing as PR later this year. But I may need to be traveling back and forth between Canada and the US during my first year (because of family issues). I'm worried that I may be gone for more than 30 days during my first six months. As a new PR, if I apply for health card but don't use...

    PPR Request Question

I used FedEx too. How long did it take for them to send your COPR after receiving your package? It says they signed for the package on Dec 12 and I've been checking the tracking # for the return package and it has not be sent yet.

    Questions - Schedule A IMM5669E

Did you get an answer? I am in the same boat. Hubby got an email on 5/24 and we kept waiting for me to get the request but it never came. I ended up using the IRCC webform ( https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx ) to upload my form on 6/5. Have not heard from...

    Translated birth certificate - rejected

Actually, just checked the Chinese Consulate website here in the US, and they only authenticate documents originating from US to bring back to China. They cannot authenticate documents originating from China. My document is so old (1979), I'm pretty sure not even the local government in China...
