My turn for good news. I had my oath today! In total from receipt of my file by CIC to the oath - just 7 month, which is incredibly fast for Vancouver! My entire timeline is in signature. I have to tell though that I asked for urgent processing of my application on March 5 and they complied...

Are you kidding me? They lost (stole?) my 20 kilo parcel which was really huge, and there are so many stories like mine. Definitely not the most reliable mail service.

I just checked my e-cas - nothing for me. My updates usually come several days after charmed10-2013 :) Hey tnagers, can you also post an update to Vancouver thread once you receive a letter? is your local office Surrey or Vancouver?

Hope this helps. A friend of mine had his work permit application lost by CIC (they claimed they never received it), but after several calls and a letter from immigration consultant they were able to find it. Took them about a week.

They increased the fees and are hiring more people. Secondly, once the proposed bill becomes a law, they will have at least couple of months break. That's why I am so positive.

I know that Vancouver is super slow, but somehow I have a feeling that most applications received in 2013 will be processed by the end of this year. This is only my feeling (speculation as one may think), but I feel myself lucky. It will be unfair to all those who had to wait 24+ months, but we...
