If anyone is curious - I mailed my PR photos and the letter in just under a month ago and linked the "application" to my account. Today I checked and it said "Application/profile updated" so I think I'll get confirmation soon and then hopefully mailed out in due time. I'm in Vancouver. :)

Your OWP will still be valid and I believe you can continue to live and work in Canada through the validity of its status; however, there might be some caveats and more speculation if you come in and out of the country.
