    @ Perrinsa: I'd suggest you to apply for your SIN card, cuz in order to work and get paid for it, you need to provide a SIN number for tax purposes along with your Work Permit, otherwise, in the long run you and/or your employer can get in trouble with the CRA for not declaring taxable income...
