CPP-Ottawa ONLY - Post your timeline here! faster processing?

I called the CIC call centre and they passed on my request to the CIC Winnipeg Office, who then gave me an appointment for a week later. You need to take all your immigration documents, just in case they ask for them.

    Changing employer after getting PNP?

You need to contact the SINP office and speak with them. My gut feeling is that it will be OK as long as your new job is a similar position to the one you had when you were nominated. You must, however, confirm this with the SINP office before you switch jobs.

Detroit Timeline for Stamping visa after PPR

Hi everyone, just a quick update. I got my PPR on Nov 9, 2012. It arrived in Detroit on Nov 21, 2012, as I made the stupid decision to use Canada Post Xpresspost USA. My COPR was created on Nov 30, 2012, eCas changed to DM on Dec 2 2012, and then I received my COPR on Dec 4, 2012. Will land...

CIC - Returned Documents after Landing

Are you sure it didn't say 'will NOT be returned'? I have only ever seen on CIC instructions that they do not return originals. Even so, you can make a case-specific inquiry explaining the situation and requesting the originals back, and you may find that they mail them to you. This is what...

Ontario PNP open work permit extension

Hi there, This is simple enough - I had to do this over the summer. Begin the online process to renew your work visa, and somewhere in the application process you will be prompted to indicate that you have been nominated by a province for PR, and there will be a section further along where you...

Detroit office closed -mail not delivered

Hi everyone, I just had a similar experience mailing my docs to the Detroit consulate. When mailing through Canada Post Xpresspost USA I would recommend checking the status of your item on the USPS website, as I found it tended to have more accurate and up-to-date information than the Canada...

Waiting for PGWP - processing times in July 2012

Not sure about PGWP processing times, but I know they will only send you a letter via snail mail - no email. You can check the progress of your work permit application on by calling the call center and using the automated phone service.

Work permit extension - forgot uploading a document

Good question. I did the opposite, I just uploaded the certificate and not the letter. I feel that it will be fine, as the PNP letter is more important, and purposefully contains all the information on the certificate, so I wouldn't worry too much as I don't think both are necessary. I had...
