After COVID, lot of companies are looking for onshore applicants rather than offshore. You can still try to come onshore and apply for jobs once you are here. It’s a long shot but worth a try.

I got my 186 (employer sponsored) PR visa in 2 months. The key now is to be onshore and work in the nominated field. Points have...

Yes and no, depends on the jobs you are looking for. There’s tremendous shortage for various jobs in supermarkets, hospitality, etc. at the moment. So for anyone who is desperate to live in Australia it’s a good option. Don’t expect high paying jobs in regional area though.

My application was processed in about 4 months. But I know it was quick becoz I spent 10 years of the last 12 years in Australia with minimal travel history. And processing time for employer sponsored visas have decreased significantly these days.

Hahaha I’ve lived in Australia for 10 years…. Temperatures r 30C+ During days and 20C + during nights for almost for 8 months of the year. You will get a couple of weeks where temp drops below 10C at nights.

Yeah it’s the main reason I wasn’t too keen on Canada. I’m the guy who used to wear a jacket when temperatures drop below 20C in Australia (there’s lot of people who do that).

Australia has same immigration levels as it had before. It’s just that there are now more streamlined pathways for temporary residents and points based offshore immigration is relic of the past.
