Below that you can see country specific requirements.In that it is there.I had issues with my mother's name.So I couldn't keep my birth certificate.I kept a letter along with my Secondary certificate to consider it as a proof of birth year. They accepted it.Now I am waiting for my PPR

For Indians it is not mandatory to submit birth certificate.(When I applied I even hadn't one)Secondary school certificate will be considered instead of Birth certificate.I applied with that.You can check the website.It is clearly mentioned.
