Buy a house or build your own?

OK, so the specific question you ask is, "Which is cheaper?" In that case, a condo would be, for sure. Leon definitely brings up some valid points, but of course not all condos are the same... As for building a house yourself, I advise you think about it in the long term. Is this the house...

Thread for applications sent OCTOBER 2009

Thank you! It feels a little surreal to now be at the end of this looooong road. I guess it'll hit me in time.

    CIC London Interview

The only tip I have is to reitorate what PMM said> get a CAIPS so you know why they're calling you in.

Kathsimbev, I feel your pain, since your application took much, much longer than anyone else on this thread (we are still waiting for the passport to come with the visa). The reason why ours took so long is that there was a tiny problem with something in our application. The only way we found...

Yes, you will get one. However, realize that the Inland application takes a LOT longer than the outland. From what I've seen so far, it seems like thus far your waiting period is right about average.

Important Information for People from Scandinavia re: Criminal Record Check

Hello everyone! I realize that this is a very niche issue and that it will not concern most of you. However, I am posting it so that one day when someone does a search for these keywords, they'll find it. I am sponsoring my Norwegian partner, and the application is being processed through...

You and me both. I must admit that I beginning to worry a bit. Seeing how straight forward our case was and that we are going through a relatively fast embassy (London) I was hoping to have had the PR looong ago. Having had our PR app 'lost in the mix' when my family migrated to Canada 13 years...

Badhet, have no fear. We are in the exact same boat as you and we are going through the much 'faster' London office. I share in your frustration, but worrying about it now is just a waste of time. Know that you are well within the processing range.

    "Decision made..." Nervous

Hehehe, wanna switch? I'd trade in your 'decision made' for our waiting any day. :) Best of luck!

Moving back to Canada before the application process is complete

My understanding is that she would be allowed to come to Canada, just not able to work. Once she gets her PR, she'd have to leave the country and make the official 'landing' at a Canadian border. This trip could be as simple as a weekend trip down to the States, as far as I know. Best of luck!

The exact wording of what e-Cas says depends largely on the clerk who fills it out. Much of the time, information is omitted, so just because it doesn't say that it has been forwarded, I would definitely not freak out.

What are my options now? Tired of waiting.

I am in the same boat as you. The only advice I can think of is that whether you get angry or not, it'll still take just as long. It's completely out of your hands...
