    COPR and coronavirus

Hi! In chat groups, people have been taking a chance (to avoid COPR expiry) and traveling inspite of having a post March 18th approved COPR since quite a few people were lucky not to be barred entry. It seems the March 18th rule isn't enforced well. You mentioned they are strict these...

    COPR and coronavirus

To add further, it seems even the "exemptions" are not being implemented as per the rule. I have seen multiple posts in whatsapp groups wherein people with Post-March 18 approved and valid COPR, were able to travel without any questions asked. People with valid COPRs (approved post March 18) are...

    COPR and coronavirus

Transiting may not be allowed..as described below: You are exempt from the current travel restrictions and can come to Canada if you have a valid COPR, and the COPR was issued on or before March 18, 2020, or the COPR was issued after March 18, 2020 and you are an immediate family member...

    COPR and coronavirus

MP Raquel has been awesome in raising this issue and following up. But looking at the government's response so far, they seem to be just (1) dodging the issue, (2) flatly denying it at times or (3) giving general statements/assurances...mostly oscillating between these three...lol Hope they...

    COPR and coronavirus

Yup, by keeping borders open for US based COPR holders, the logic that it's about COVID doesn't make sense... Plus the fact that they have increased ITAs these days, 5000 compared to 3900 pre-COVID with an already piled up heap of expired/expiring COPRs... Illogical, but maybe the priority is...

    COPR and coronavirus

Hahaha...totally agreed. Especially, the last line. When I see people in whatsapp groups and forums frustrated with delay in PPR, i wish they know its better to be in that stage rather than a short duration COPR status or with an expired COPR...

    COPR and coronavirus

If they are considering economic conditions, they shouldn't be increasing the ITAs...its much higher than earlier levels. Or maybe its to offset the same economic conditions..keep the money coming in ..;)
