Can someone please help us understand what happens in the citizenship processing background that takes such a long time to process the application. Keeping the number of applications aside, its hard to believe that it takes 2-3 months to just acknowledge the application.

Hi Sept15 and others, I have a physical presence of 1116 days. My wife will qualify in June 2014. Since Mr Alex is working hard on the new citizenship changes, i had to apply along with my daughter.

Thank you so much for the advise... The departure date and arrival date need to be considered as days in Canada or absent days? I was in Canada those days and took flight to US and when landed in Canada.

Thank you and appreciate the note and advise.... I read FAQ on this site which says there are some exceptions and these exceptions are exactly the ones in in my case. If you are away for study purpose or away for a while while your dependents are living in Canada. Any thoughts?
