Update! My PGWP was about to expire on June 2023. I applied on Feb 2nd, 2023 for an extension due to passport expiry(PAPER APP). Did not get anything back yet I opted-in for the new extension policy last Friday, and got approved today 18 months from the approval date, not from the expiry date...

I am in the same boat. I will wait until I get a response about my paper application
