In my case from submission to receiving it took 2 weeks If you subscribed to the SMS service you'll get messages on every movement. If not then look out for the update on your GC account. VFS themselves won't update anything beyond the SMS service

It is not. The profile doesn't seem to be anywhere up to date as according to the high commission I've already been approved (double confirmed via the GCMS notes) yet the profile still says my background check is ongoing so I sort of don't take it as seriously anymore

I didn't. I did mine on November 29 and passed December 19. So I guess I won't chase them over that for another thirty days or so
