    Valid passport for non-accompanying spouse

    Hi, does anybody know whether it is crucial for a non-accompanying spouse to have a valid passport/travel document? Does a photo \ copy will be ok? Is a passport is necessary for giving biometrics or a copy or a national ID will be enough?
