Are they still going to abolish citizenship fees?

Ok thanks, that's the kind of answer I was looking for.

Are they still going to abolish citizenship fees?

She is basically able to travel anywhere with a British passport and entry back into Canada with the PR card and there is no risk of losing citizenship there, even if she becomes a Canadian citizen she will still maintain British citizenship (dual).

Are they still going to abolish citizenship fees?

True, I know someone here that has just stayed PR for 15 years now.

Are they still going to abolish citizenship fees?

She has a British passport, so can travel freely along with the PR card. The only thing she can't do with the PR card is vote here. We wouldn't want to pay $630 if they intend to abolish the fees soon, waiting another year or 2 is not going to make any difference

Are they still going to abolish citizenship fees?

Hi my wife became a PR over 3 years ago and can now apply for citizenship if we wish. There's no big rush as she has a passport from her own country and the PR card. I was reading the Liberals are thinking of abolish ing the citizenship fees of $630, but can't find any recent news on this since...

Help - AIP received, but online says "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirement"

My wife landed 8 months ago and her mycic still says the same thing as yours. So assume it won’t be updated, there’s nothing wrong, the letters they send out about AIP and landing are the main thing.

    guys! Please enlighten my mind

Are you sure it’s not the landing appointment? Sounds like it to me given every else you have said. And mycic will not likely update the eligibility, my wife landed last year and mycic still says the same thing about eligibility.

I want to marry my US girlfriend, she’s in USA, what’s the fastest way?

There are only a few bars to being a sponsor which you can read at the link kcward gives above, so you’re good if you don’t fall into any of those categories. Just read through the many helpful application guides and double and triple check when filling out the forms, thankfully the process now...

I want to marry my US girlfriend, she’s in USA, what’s the fastest way?

If you apply inland with OWP you don’t need to worry about visitor status as the OWP gives her a valid status. You can also apply Outland whilst she is staying in Canada as a visitor, and honestly if you need to extend visitor status during that time it’s highly unlikely to be refused, many...

    Marital Status

Sorry..... what?? There’s no law here (or most western countries) saying you must change your surname, most will do, some may even combine both surnames, and some continue to use their own surnames.

    Out of status sponsorship

I guess you are still technically married though? so it’s not like you lied. We basically overthink everything during this process, you are in a good position, you still have valid status and doing all the right things in a timely manner to keep your status and progress to becoming a PR.

    New Update

Mycic won’t change, my wife landed 8 months ago and her account still says it’s reviewing eligibility etc! Lol , so I guess that never gets updated. The most important thing is the email messages, next one for you will probably be “event scheduled” which will be your landing appointment...

    Out of status sponsorship

Was refused, we decided not to restore as were sure it would be turned down and possibly put her more onto CBSA radar. She had been here nearly 3 years on valid visitor records. I personally think once you get to around 2.5 to 3 years on VR, that is where IRCC draw the line on extensions...

    Out of status sponsorship

The quicker you can apply for PR the better. The risk of deportation is almost zero with a PR app in process even if your are caught by the CBSA, there is a higher risk of deportation if you are caught out of status and don’t have the PR app in process. My wife was here for 2 years out of...

    New Update

Nothing really, it’s just to verify you and your sponsors identity, sign some paper work, bit of chit chat and welcome to Canada. Takes no more than 10-15 minutes. It’s not an interview, the decision has all ready been made to grant PR, nothing to worry about at all.
