    Thank you for your responses, we decided to go with yyyy-mm-dd since it seems like it shouldn't cause any confusion.

    Was going through the instructions here and it is not mentioned what date format is expected. What date format should we use at the back of the principal applicant photo? dd-mm-yyyy or mm-dd-yyyy or yyyy-mm-dd ?
