Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Hi there! I am kind of in the same boat, except we have already submitted our application. I posted the same question here a few months ago. I decided to just wait to change my name after we get COPR. My passport expires in 2019 so I should have (fingers crossed) my COPR by then. When I get a...

The police certificates will be asked from her before she receives her OWP but isn't necessary for the OWP since they use it for your PR application. Both police certificates and medical aren't needed for the open work permit.

Are you talking about linking your work permit or your PR application? Have you received your AOR yet?

I actually need clarification on this too. I thought SA comes the same time as AIP, which if it is, will take months still as it is towards the end of your application... If I'm wrong, can someone give feedback on this please? Is SA the same as the AOR sent to sponsor?

It would depend on the letter they sent you requesting for specific police certificates. If you have lived in Canada for the majority of the time since you turned 18, you don't need it. If that was the only Police certificate you need, upload a letter explaining your situation instead.

I don't think that would help as you are applying for an OPEN work permit, meaning it is not employer specific. We had an immigration consultant help us with our application and he said that it won't matter at all. Plus, it's illegal for companies to offer you a job if you don't have a valid...

Yes. Again, it is up to your discretion but there were quite a few members here who had no problem getting in and out as long as you have those two.. I'm planning to leave in May and I should have my work permit by then so I'll let you know how that goes! :)

You're still on the average waiting period of 8 weeks fro the AOR so nothing to worry about. The wait is a killer, I understand.

Hi there! He should be able to stay and work once he gets his OWP. From what I see here in the forum, there are already October applicants getting their OWP so your husband's should come shortly as well. So its really up to you if you'd like to extend it or not. Not quite sure how long it takes...
