I don't know about number 1 and number 3 but as for number 2,YES it's possible that they started the BG check and do not update for a long time. In my case,, status changed to "we are processing BG check since September 2018, immediately after I paid for Biometrics. But no update on that till date.

Hello everyone. Has any one recently passed the estimated processing time without any update on their profile? How are you handling it? I have 16 weeks left on my profile and no update since AOR and BIL. I'm curious

Yeah mine disappeared today. When I checked in the morning it was there and by noon it disappeared. Processing times has been reduced to 21 months so I guess they are trying to make adjustments on our processing bars to effect the new estimated time.
