I left Canada several times (5-10) during my inland application being processed. Never had any issues getting back into Canada. Always made sure to bring my Work Permit with me so I could present it upon returning to Canada.

Landed in Montreal today! Was a lot of people waiting when I arrived but they called my name right on time. 568 days from start to finish for me. Just need to wait for my PR card now that's all.

December 2015 applicant here. Finally got my DM! Received AIP on April 26th together with a request to do my medical exam. Did my medical on May 11th and today my ECAS was updated to Decision Made. Will be landing in Montreal eventually as me and my sponsor lives in Quebec City.
