India introduced the Visa on Arrival / e VISA in 2013. That was an easy process without having to submit the passport etc. Unfortunately it was suspended in 2020. Hope that is restored soon. This Hunger games can be avoided.

You need to contact BLS for these details. Please call them and they will guide you. Ofcourse it will be some time before your calm gets connected.

If you were an Indian citizen before, you have surrender your Indian passport and apply for a Tourist Vida to visit India. Or you can apply for Visa and Surrender certificate at the same time.

Status on the Indian Consulate OCI page gets updated approx.2-3 weeks after BLS is sending the OCI application to the Indian Consulate. And another 4-5 weeks to process the OCI

Where did you track the status of the Visa at the Indian Consulate ( other than the BLS status)
