I wouldn't think so. You will still be inland I believe they will put your file on hold and resume when you notify them that you are back in Canada.- kemilembe

If you are outside of the country by the time they send you P1 essentially your landing will be on hold till you come back. Meaning your work permit won't be canceled until you come back n confirm your presence in Canada. I would suggest if you really can't avoid the traveling...just travel as...- kemilembe
