I strongly suggest that you tell them everything. List the previous refusal on the form and tell them your whole story on an extra page that you include with the application.

Quebec has it's own ministry to select and approve students. CIC only checks security issues with Quebec students usually. They probably told CIC not to delay their students. Also for the above poster, it was regular mail.

K guys, so final update. Applied : May 15 Received Approval : July 16 Study Permit Mail Delivery : Today ( July 23 ) I'll be applying again next year so see you then I guess, haha. Good luck to the rest of you.

I think only Quebec students are getting faster processing time since we already have Quebec approval letter before applying for extension. Me and aa105942 are both studying in Quebec so that makes sense I gues why we got it quick.

To be clear I dont think you being a U.S citizen matters in this context since CBSA does not handle amendments / study permit extensions etc for any citizenship. UBC is right that you can get an initial study permit at the border as a U.S citizen but nothing after that. That being said, I dont...

I got a mail yesterday but there was no change. Today I checked again and it was approved.
