Was the person illegally in Canada? Like not extending visitors record after 6 months of stay? Or was here on implied status? By the way, visitors record comes like study permit certificate because I have seen and handled both.- JM_X

The likely issue is the fact that each day spent as a temporary resident (Study, Work or visitor) counts as half a day up to a maximum of 1 year towards citizenship and that is why you have the calculator. Stop causing unnecessary stress. IRCC will only ask this if their entry and leaving record does not match what is claimed by the applicant. So IRCC and CBSA does not have the record of entering and leaving Canada? Why do they verify the data entered by the applicant with CBSA?- JM_X

Not needed. IRCC has all of that information about you. All you needed to do (which I believe you did) was truthfully declare all the days you were in Canada and your status during that period. They will confirm it themselves.- JM_X
