Oh wow, what an ordeal! I was going to have to get a driver record for Alberta also, but I was resolute on never dealing with the CA DMV again. I turned in my current license and my expired old license (showing that I had been driving since 2008) and they thankfully accepted that.

I was giving the OP advice on living and working in California given the fact that 3/6 cities he/she listed are under consideration. I do everything to fight this "glamorous" California stigma because I've seen so many people show up to my former home and get slammed with cold reality.

Totally agree, it all depends on the province :) I was telling the OP though that beating 60 people for an entry level job with a Bachelors in Business Administration is actually pretty good. In California (his/her prospective state), it would be more like having to beat thousands of resumes...

Ok, I realize this is very subjective, as everyone has a different experience. I am now a PR of Alberta (came from USA) and I am totally clueless on which bank to pick as my new Canadian bank. I've Googled for HOURS about the various banks but I want a few recommendations from real-life people...

They have a copy of your goods to follow list with the barcode on it. They will check off the items you listed when you show up to claim them.
