Hi, i am also in the same situation, my son canadian passport expiring in 2 weeks after his planned return date to canada . July 1st planned travel , july 15 passport expiry. Will it cause any issues ? Are you able to enter canada without any issues ?

Very Strange , Either your case is bit complicated or you missed some documents. Would suggest Apply GCMS notes and also contact local Member of Parliament after 12 months .
