Travellers can obtain electronic authorisation to enter Myanmar through a simple online process without visiting an embassy. Two main categories are offered: tourist for leisure stays of up to 28 days and business for visits of up to 70 days when supported by a local company invitation. Both are single-entry and the approval letter remains valid for 90 days from issue. A passport valid for at least six months and a recent digital photograph are required. Myanmar eVisa is limited to nationals of eligible countries and permits arrival only at designated points such as Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw airports or selected land borders. Processing usually takes three working days.
