Exporting Vehicle From US - My Story

I'm sorry to hear about your Accord, but you would indeed have had to jump through a bunch of flaming hoops. Whether it would have been worth it would have been your call, but I certainly understand.

Exporting Vehicle From US - My Story

This is just a quick post to let everyone know my story, as the vehicle export process is quite complicated. Background: I immigrated into Ontario from the west-coast U.S., so not sure what other provinces' rules are. 1. Apparently you're not supposed to be driving a U.S. vehicle in Canada...

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Hi fellow November applicants! I landed yesterday in Toronto! Went back home for a couple of weeks to visit family, which was great. Already applied for my SIN and health insurance. Best of luck to those of you still waiting; may your COPR/Visa come with all possible speed!

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Hi Lena 1984, It took right about four months from the time I was notified of spousal approval and actually got a file number to the "decision made" being changed. My status never said, "in process." Got COPR three days after status change.

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Woo-hoo! (I hope) My ECAS finally changed from "Application Received" to "Decision Made." Sorry to ask questions that other people have probably already answered, but my status changed yesterday or today. Any idea how long it takes to go from Decision Made to getting a visa or COPR?

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

I just got two emails from CPP-Ottawa thanking me for my passport docs on May 7th, and replying to my query as to whether my May 15th RCMP fingerprints had been received. Hopefully that means they're working on my file?

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I just got an RCMP request last week. If you have it done electronically processing time is about 72 hours, and your VO should be able to finish looking at it within a week of the fingerprinting submission. So it won't extend your time so much. Other forum posts seem to indicate they don't want...

    CPP-Ottawa

I've had a passport and RCMP background check request and status still says, "application received."

    CPP-Ottawa

I empathize with everyone on the lack of job and losing money. I was lucky enough I've been in a transition period and my job contract ended soon before I came here, so I didn't have to give all that up here, but yeah, it still hasn't been a cakewalk. Things are going reasonably quickly for...

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Ha ha, should have known they wouldn't just speedily process my COPR. I got PPR last week, and today, I got an RCMP background request. Here's hoping this will be the last of it!

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Bibiche, it's 9 months from the date CIC receives your application. Also, remember that the "average processing time" posted on CIC's website is for 80% of applicants, so it's not really the average at all. So if Paris' processing time is 9 months, the average is probably closer to 6-7 months...

    fbi check and medicals

I priority-mailed my FBI request, overnight mail. It's really up to you, but I wanted to know my paperwork arrived in someone's hands ASAP.

    When I will get AOR?

I never got the first AOR, and judging from the forums a lot of other people didn't, either. The first item we received from them was an AOR for spousal approval. If you see, "application received," consider it your AOR. Oh, and don't expect many other ECAS updates; I just got my passport...
