Update! My wife and baby are now permanent residents of Canada. They landed yesterday.

If you are the applicant and presently in Canada, u shld apply under privacy act and it's free. But if u are applying on behalf of someone who is not in Canada, u shld apply under access to information act for a $5 fee CAD.

There is nothing any applicant can do, mate, to put pressure on CiC to expedite processing of applications. Update! Just checked ecas. It's decision made for my spouse! Expecting passport request next week.

My spouse got an email from CiC london on Monday requesting for additional family information form and my babies birth certificate to be sent within 45 days, otherwise decision will be made using existing information on record which could lead to refusal of her application.

Update. My spouse also got out of office reply from the same initial SF who is on holiday and will be back on the 19th. Hopefully will get actual reply from tuesday. We made an inquiry about status update and medical which expired on October 8th.
