    Citizenship Application for Minor

If you use the PR card as an ID document for a minor, the secondary ID must be a Canadian ID. So, her health card (best choice per chat boards) or school records count. Or anything with Name and Date of Birth. We submitted hospital records (with name and date of birth, which they did not accept).

    Citizenship Application for a minor

Apply for PR for the baby now. At the end of the year apply for citizenship for you and your wife. Once your citizenship is finished, and your baby has PR, you can turn around and immediately apply for citizenship for your baby. If a parent is a Canadian Citizen, the child does not need to meet...

    Citizenship Application for a minor

Your child needs to apply for pr. If you intend to keep your baby long term in Canada, they need to get a record when they cross the border, which you use in the application for pr. I can't remember what it is called, but it can take 1-2 hours to get it from the border agent. You should not have...

    PR Card Timeline.

you aren't going to like this reply, I seem to be an outlier. We got eCopr in January, and my children's PR cards have still not been sent to us.

    March 2022 - citizenship applications

This is normal, it means their citizenship has been approved. When you send in the PR cards, they will send back their citizenship certificates. Adults have to destroy their PR cards at their oath ceremony. When did they apply?

    Baby born in india

I am not sure you have to wait for the Indian Passport to apply for the Canadian Certificate. See scenario 3 in this document: https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/citizen/cit0014e-2.pdf

Citizenship Application: Waiting on PR card for minor children

I'm assuming that there are two different offices: one that is responsible for printing PR cards, one that needs to make sure that I don't have both a PR card and a Citizenship Certificate. You are assuming that these two processes can be coordinated (or can you point me to a thread where they...

Citizenship Application: Waiting on PR card for minor children

I'm confused by this response. It is pretty clear that the last step in the process for minor children is to mail in their PR cards, with the Citizenship Certificate mailed out shortly after PR cards are sent in. If we can't mail in the PR cards, that will delay the process. Some people have...

Citizenship Application: Waiting on PR card for minor children

Only a problem in that it will delay the process. Yes, we've received AOR for the citizenship application.

Citizenship Application: Waiting on PR card for minor children

There is nothing else to do but tell the truth. Is there a way to speed up the PR card processing? We are already outside their normal processing times.

Citizenship Application: Waiting on PR card for minor children

My children have a citizen parent, but were not born citizens. In February, they got PR, and we immediately submitted their application for citizenship. We are still waiting for their PR cards. What happens if their citizenship file is complete, and we are requested to mail in their PR cards...

Any option to withdraw citizenship application for kids from a family application?

I agree - I can see no downside for having dual Canadian/US citizenship. If you leave Canada, they may not be able to file later (even if you have become a citizen), or if they turn 18 and leave Canada they can lose their PR, say if they want to go to college in the US. But if they are dual...

    December 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

You never know when there will be family emergency. It is never wise to let travel documents expire.
