I think that immigration don’t count any work experience while you are studying

I've revived my Letter Of Introduction for my PGWP and am waiting for the Work Permit (I applied from Canada online). Does anyone know how long it takes to arrive in the post? I need it to apply for my spouses work permit. Or will immigration accept the LOI for proof of my work permit? Thanks
