    March 2013 Applicant

Landed! March 2013 applied outbound, I was living in Oregon USA at the time. My Canadian wife was\is my sponsor and I also sent off for proof of citizenship for my three kids. We moved to BC in August so my Son would start school with his new classmates. I received a temporary resident...

    I landed!

I applied outbound, but moved prior to landing. I was granted a temporary resident visa in August 2013. It would have expired in February. In retrospect I should have applied for an open work visa at the same time as my PR.

    I landed!

I filed for PR in March-2013. Today (1-Jan-2014) I landed! To those waiting, right now it feels amazing! I now have a home in Canada with my family! It is such a new chapter, so many possibilities! Thanks for this board for answering oh so many questions.

    Medical Exam Confusion

The medicals go directly to the CIC. I received a bill for services only. So send your paperwork.

    how long to get approval?

March 2013 was when my application was received. April 19, 2013 sponsor approval. October 7 2013, I got my request for passport. I am still waiting for my landing papers.

    Long-Distance Relationship

US visitors can get a six month visa then renew. The burden of proving a common-law marriage can be daunting. I would think the best could get an open work permit, depending upon what work skills are needed in which province. Otherwise, both move to a boarder town and start establishing...

    March 2013 Applicant

Today I got an e-mail from the CIC requesting documents and passport! This is the next big step we have been waiting patiently for! It reads: This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada as a member of the family class. We have now completed the initial assessment...

Got My GCMS Notes Back - RCMP Screening Fingerprints Required

The forums here suggested getting as much paperwork together as possible. So I was proactive as well. Yesterday I got my request for passport! ;D

Got My GCMS Notes Back - RCMP Screening Fingerprints Required

Your local law bringers usually do the fingerprinting. I got mine done in the USA at a police station ($25 US). The police sent the entire package off to the FBI in my case. Here is a link about fingerprinting. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/fingerprint.asp

Glad to see some folks from March getting through CIC. I am outbound "visiting" Canada prior to getting my PR.

    March 2013 Applicant

It has taken more adjustment then anticipated. Thanks to these forums I was prepared for much, and so I am not overwhelmed. :) There is still a nagging sensation associated without working. I see one of our Havana March applicants landed, so that seems hopeful it will be sooner rather then...

    March 2013 Applicant

I am a March 2013 outbound applicant. My wife is Canadian and my sponsor (she had been living in the US since 1968 as a resident alien). On August 10th we moved up to Canada. I have a six month visitor visa. In February 2013 we applied for proof of Canadian Citizenship for our three kids...

Outbound living in Canada. We crossed the boarder

I have a six month VISA. Still waiting for my PR. We crossed the boarder into Canada on August 9th. Using the BC address on the boarder paperwork for the car for proof of residency, we had already secured a place to stay prior, my Canadian born wife was able to get her Social Insurance...
