Ya I thought it was okay to land alone, nowhere in any of the literature does it mention the need for the sponsor to be there or to be in Canada...our application contained a letter from my sponsor with intention to return in June this year clearly indicated. Anyway, thankfully he let me land...

Landed yesterday in TO, arrived in Pearson. Had to queue for over an hour, eventually was told I shouldn't technically be allowed to land because me sponsor wasn't with me and wasn't in Canada. Told the IO that I wasn't aware of this requirement...he landed me anyway. No problem with customs...
